RE: ESTABLISHMENT OF CHILD SUPPORT IN JUVENILE DEPENDENCY CASES     
REF: FM-2008-044-VL (Rescinds W-2008-001)

WHEREAS, one of the principles outlined In re: Report of Family Court Steering Committee, 794 So.2d 518 (Fla. 2001) is consideration of child support matters by judges hearing related juvenile dependency actions to avoid conflicting orders and multiple court appearances by the parties, as well as to increase efficiency and wisely utilize court resources, and

WHEREAS, the pilot project established by Administrative Order W-2008-001 to experiment with utilizing the “Best Practices Model for Child Support in Dependency Cases” proved to be successful, efficient and beneficial in dealing with child support and promoting the best interest of children involved in juvenile dependency cases;

NOW THEREFORE, I, J. DAVID WALSH, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby order that the “Best Practices Model for Child Support in Dependency Cases” be utilized in juvenile dependency cases assigned to Divisions 05, 15 and 38 in Volusia County effective January 1, 2009. 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that effective January 1, 2009 the Clerk of Court’s office is directed to assign Orders of Child Support, where child support is initiated within Volusia County juvenile dependency cases as follows:

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Administrative Order W-2008-001 is hereby rescinded effective January 1, 2009.
