RE: CROSS ASSIGNMENT / BAKER ACTS

WHEREAS, § 394.455, (7) Florida Statutes, defines “court” as circuit court, and
WHEREAS, County Court judges in the Seventh Judicial Circuit may be called upon to preside at hearings or issue orders related to Ch. 394 (Part I), Florida Statutes, otherwise known as the Baker Act, and
WHEREAS, it has been made known to the undersigned that the efficient and proper administration of justice regarding Baker Acts requires the temporary assignment of County Court judges in the Seventh Judicial Circuit to Circuit Court jurisdiction;
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROBERT K. ROUSE, JR., Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit hereby order that all County Court judges of the Seventh Judicial Circuit are temporarily assigned to Circuit Court jurisdiction for purposes of handling matters related to the Baker Act. The County Court judges herein assigned to Circuit Court are hereby vested with all and singular the powers and prerogatives conferred by the State of Florida upon a judge of the Court to which they are assigned.
