IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF FLORIDA, SEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT
IN AND FOR FLAGLER, PUTNAM, ST. JOHNS AND VOLUSIA COUNTIES


RE: GUARDIANSHIP EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
REF: PB-2011-006-SC (Rescinds PB-2000-006-SC)

WHEREAS, § 744.3145(2), Florida Statutes, requires individuals appointed by the court to serve as guardians (except parents serving as guardians of the property of their minor children) to receive at least 8 hours of instruction and training, and

WHEREAS, § 744.3145(3), Florida Statutes, requires individuals appointed by the court to serve as guardians of the property of their minor children to receive at least 4 hours of instruction and training, and   

WHEREAS, § 744.3145(4), Florida Statutes, requires the aforementioned instruction and training to be completed through a course approved by the Chief Judge of the circuit court and taught by a court-approved organization;

NOW THEREFORE, I, WILLIAM A. PARSONS, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby order that courses provided and taught by the following organizations are approved for use in the Seventh Judicial Circuit:

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the provisions of this Order do not apply to professional guardians.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Administrative Order PB-2000-006-SC is hereby rescinded.

TO BE RECORDED in Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties.
