Circuit Judge S. James Foxman was appointed to the bench in 1979. Prior to his appointment, he was with the Air Force JAG and practiced as a civil attorney in South Daytona. He earned an undergraduate degree from Colby College and a juris doctor from the University of Miami. During his time on the bench, he’s presided over family, civil and criminal cases and served as Chief Judge. Judge Foxman currently hears family cases at the Volusia County Courthouse Annex in New Smyrna Beach.
