Emergency Parenting Procedures

Effective August 1, 2021 all hearings shall be conducted “In Person” EXCEPT for CMC’s, Docket Sounding, and Dependency Court, which shall continue to be conducted remotely. A remote ZOOM appearance for any witness, party, attorney, or attendee(s) must have prior Court approval. The Court should be notified of any such request at least 5 days prior. Please e-file this request in the form of a Motion, and file with the Clerk of Court.

Circuit Judge Christopher A. France was appointed to the bench in 2016. Prior to becoming judge, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Seventh Judicial Circuit for 18 years, taking on leadership roles in environmental crimes, sex crimes, drug enforcement and the homicide investigative unit and serving as division chief in the St. Johns County office. He also worked as a staff attorney at the Putnam County Courthouse for the Seventh Judicial Circuit and was appointed chair of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee. Judge France earned both a bachelor's degree and a juris doctor at Loyola University New Orleans. He currently presides over family law cases at the Kim C. Hammond Justice Center in Bunnell.
