Circuit Judge Hubert L. Grimes was elected as a Volusia County Court judge in 1988 and was appointed to the circuit bench in 1999. Before becoming a judge, he was in private practice and worked for legal services. He earned an undergraduate degree from Kentucky State University and a juris doctor from the University of Georgia. Past judicial assignments include county criminal and civil. Judge Grimes currently hears juvenile delinquency, dependency, dependency drug court and unified family court cases at the Volusia County Courthouse in DeLand.
