Circuit Judge John W. Watson, III was appointed to the bench in 1986. Before becoming a judge, he was a civil attorney and an assistant state attorney. He earned his undergraduate degree from Florida Southern College and juris doctor at Florida State University. While on the bench, Judge Watson has heard criminal, civil, juvenile delinquency and family cases. He currently hears juvenile delinquency cases and presides over juvenile delinquency drug court at the Volusia County Courthouse Annex in Daytona Beach.
